
Lake Naivasha
Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake in Nakuru county, just outside the Naivasha town, and less than 30 minutes from Hylise Hotel. Lake Naivasha is at the highest elevation of the Kenyan Rift valley at 1,884 metres (6,181 ft) in a complex geological combination of volcanic rocks and sedimentary deposits from a larger Pleistocene Era lake.

Mount Longonot National Park is protects Mount Longonot, a stratovolcano located southeast of Lake Naivasha which is thought to have last erupted in the 1860s. The park’s main attraction is the thick forest that lies within the crater of the mountain and the crater rim that provides great scenic views across the beautiful Rift Valley all the way to Lake Naivasha.

Crescent Island Game Sanctuary
Crescent Island is a wildlife sanctuary on the eastern shores of the Lake and is home to giraffe, zebra, impala and many interesting water birds. Located on Lake Naivasha, it is one of the most beautiful parks in Kenya and is often called Naivasha’s best-kept secret. Surrounded by water, it is actually a peninsula and is currently only accessible by boat from the East or West side.

Hells Gate National Park
Hell’s Gate National Park lies south of Lake Naivasha in Kenya, north west of Nairobi. Hell’s Gate National Park is named after a narrow break in the cliffs, once a tributary of a prehistoric lake that fed early humans in the Rift Valley. It was established in 1984.
